Auriel ESG Integration

In 2009 Auriel Capital began to fully integrate Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) data and ratings into our equity research platform. We worked closely with a team of research partners including Reuters/Asset4, Riskmetrics, EIRIS and Trucost to identify ESG factors in each of 25 sectors that are expected to influence corporate risk and return.

In the spring of 2012, Auriel entered into partnership with Inflection Point Capital Management to combine the best sustainability research with top quality institutional portfolio construction. Dr Matthew Kiernan, founder of IPCM and former co-founder of Innovest Strategic Advisors (the number one rated ESG research house) and his team provided over thirty relative value indicators based on their 5-Factor Model approach.

A transparent and liquid approach to equity investing allows for full attribution of return across ESG and non-ESG factors, as well as reporting on the ESG characteristics of the portfolio. We offer bespoke managed accounts customised to investor specifications in long-only and long-short portfolios.
